Environment and Rural Development Center (ENRUDEC) Banke is a non-governmental organization established in 1998 with the objective of empowering and uplifting disadvantaged women, adolescents and children and conservation of the environment. ENRUDEC believes every human being has an inherent right to a healthy life, equal opportunities to avail education, employment, quality health care, and access to justice, and to live a violence-free and peaceful life, devoid of all forms of discrimination. 

The “Piloting clean energy approaches to improve livelihoods, conservation, safety, and sustainability in the Buffer Zone of Banke National Park” (CLASS) project is a 1-year pilot initiative launched in February 2024 by Renewable World in collaboration with Wildlife Conservation Nepal (WCN) and the Environment and Rural Development Centre (ENRUDEC). The project aims to improve clean energy-centered livelihoods and conservation efforts within the buffer zone. A key focus is enhancing the Gavar Valley Lions Park, improving livelihood opportunities for the local community, and implementing strategies to mitigate human-wildlife conflict (HWC). ENRUDEC is currently inviting applications from qualified Nepali citizens committed to delivering results for the following positions:

1. Job Position:  Technical Supervisor – 1 Position

Required Qualifications and Competencies:

Knowledge/Skills

  • Diploma (Overseer level) with 4 years or Sub-Overseer Degree/T-SLC with 7 years’ experience in either Civil or Electrical Engineering priorly working in Renewable Energy sectors
  • Working experience from NGOs is preferred.
  • Good interpersonal communications skills.
  • Should have expertise in community engagement, program planning and execution, and monitoring and reporting activities.
  • Candidate with Two-wheeler (motorbike) driving license.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and conduct pre-feasibility, feasibility and detail survey works to provide required technical data and information for the design and installation of various RETs like biogas, solar lamp posts, e-cookstoves, and others as necessary.
  • Involved in feasibility and detail survey works in civil works related to lifting and gravity water supply structures including pipelines, reservoirs and distribution networks as recommended by RW-RTO.
  • Assists in other WASH related activities like sanitation, hygiene, and waste management initiatives with identifying appropriate interventions of waste disposal systems to promote behavior change in communities to ensure cleaner and greener community and parks.
  • Identify potential sites for installation of various RETs and civil structures including demand collection and assess the feasibility of proposed projects based on technical, environmental, and socio-economic factors.
  • Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure compliance as per the approved design, drawings and estimate and store materials/equipment safely.
  • Work in collaboration with project partners and community mobilisers to provide technical advice and guidance to maximize the use of local resources (cash/kind/local construction materials) in each community and household level for RET installation and civil construction.
  • Assists in RE technologies installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance to ensure that equipment is properly installed and functioning efficiently.
  • Support communities and local entrepreneurs for the procurement of locally available construction materials.
  • Facilitate the targeted community people for conducting meetings and social audits.
  • Regular supervision and monitoring of construction and installation of RE technologies ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Support and conduct various training/orientations such as pre/post, Operation repair and maintenance of installed technologies and constructed structures for relevant persons and user committees and ensure for its smooth operation.
  • Maintain accurate records and measurements of every construction-related activity for technical evaluation and reporting purposes.
  • Train and transfer technical knowledge and skills to the community to promote sustainability of installed technologies.
  • Assist the project team to organize monitoring visits (central/regional, district) involving different stakeholders as per need.
  • Provide support to project team for leveraging funds of local stakeholders as necessary.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor field activities and provide technical backstopping to the community and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Support the MEAL officer in field visit and monitoring to ensure that farmers’ interests are addressed, and feedback is reflected.
  • Make regular field visits to collect and data verification and support to follow M&E system at field level.
  • Prepare and submit timely reporting of project progress to concerned authorities on standard reporting formats provided.

2. Job Position:  Finance Officer – 1 Position

Required Qualifications and Competencies:

Knowledge/Skills

  • Bachelor of Business Studies
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in NGOs (Conservation/Renewable Energy project is preferred)
  • Knowledge of Accounting Software
  • Understanding of the laws of Nepal related to tax and insurance policies.
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Office Package and Accounting Software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain record of overall expenditure of the program activities in accordance with the direction of Executive Director,
  • Ensure the financial transactions, payments and procurements held as per organization policies and donor compliances.
  • Prepare and submit financial and admin reports to Renewable World on accounting principles, entry of vouchers/transactions into accounting software and production of required financial reports and statements.
  • Ensure, develop & maintain income goods, equipment, material, and their posting into the proper ledger.
  • Calculate the taxes on applicable deducted sources, deposit them in timely to the concerned office and maintain E-TDS system.
  • Maintain proper filing and effective documentation of all documents related to finance and administration.
  • Handle cash and treasury operations with advanced use of spreadsheets for tracking expenses and payroll system with tax applications, controls for ensuring proper transactions.
  • Coordinate with Renewable World for financial monitoring and review.

3. Job Position:  Social Mobilizer – 1 Positions

Required Qualifications and Competencies:

Knowledge/ Skills

  • Bachelor’s level in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Management, Arts, or any relevant field with minimum 2 years’ experience or intermediate (+2) level with 4 years’ experience in development sectors. (Conservation/Renewable Energy project is preferred)
  • Able to travel and stay, spend time in the community.
  • coordination and relation building skills 
  • Communication & Facilitation skills
  • Able to communicate effectively in Local Language
  • Sensitive to GBV/child protection and child safeguarding issues.
  • Basic use MS Office, Ms excel.
  • Report writing, case study, success story.
  • Candidate with Two-wheeler (motorbike) driving license is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement the planned activities in the project sites as per the approved workplan and Detailed Implementation Guideline.
  • Coordination with LG/Ward and Banke National Park/BZMC/BZCFUGs for smooth operations of the project for smooth operations of the project
  • Engage to collect demand from community and identify target households- identification of HHs to be done with the support from LG/Ward and Banke National Park/BZMC/BZCFUGs.
  • Develop case/success stories including media reports with the close coordination of MEAL Officer of RW.
  • Ensure the good relationship with stakeholders and build networks with community level stakeholders.
  • Conduct data collection for M&E system of project and assessments.
  • Ensure proper coordination/communication with RW and WCN project team for planning and implementation of project interventions.
